At Niroze Idroos LLC we create your milestone law fundamentals that will determine your law career in the future as we take practice training seriously. We will ensure you are outstandingly competent in your legal skills and also able to build a firm foundation for your legal practice.

Practice Training Programme
As a practice trainee, you will have first-hand experience in the work that the Director is involved in which includes high-profile and complex legal issues, both domestic and cross-border.

In accordance with the revised guidelines set by SILE, which applies from the 2024 session of Part B of the Singapore Bar Examinations onwards, the practice training contract period will be 12 months.

During your practice training, you will be assigned to a supervising solicitor, your Mentor. Your Mentor will be the Director of the Firm, Mr Niroze Idroos. Your Mentor will be your first point of contact for work, guidance and advice although you should expect to receive assignments from any member of your assigned practice.

The practice areas offered and exposed are:-

• Civil & Criminal Litigation
• Family Law (Civil) & (Syariah)
• Mental Capacity Act, LPA, Wills & Testament
• Probate And Estate Matters
• Corporate Disputes

The Practice Trainee will be assisting the Mentor with the following tasks:-

Legal Research: Conducting legal research using online databases and resources.
Case Management: Assist in maintaining and organizing physical and electronic case files.
Legal Drafting: Prepare, review, and proofread various legal documents, including initial drafts of affidavits, correspondence, court submissions, and letters of representation.
Court Filings: Filing documents via the Court’s online platforms
Attendance In Courts/Prison And Meeting with Client: Assist Mentor for attendances in Court (High Court, State Court, Family Justice Courts, Syariah Court) for Trials, Hearings, Pre-Trial Conference, Mediation also via Zoom Hearings and attend meetings with clients. Also accompanying Mentor to Prison either face to face and/or via tele-interview.
Discovery & Disclosure: Assist with the discovery process, including organizing and reviewing documents for production.
Administrative Support: Manage court calendars, schedule meetings, coordinate with clients and external counsel, and handle general office administration related to case files.

The Practice Trainee should possess:-

• Ability to conduct good legal research using online databases and resources
• Sound knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Google Workspace
• Sound knowledge of e-litigation and ICMS
• Good drafting skills to customise court precedents of court documents
• Good typing speed to record court proceedings and taking meeting notes with clients
• Ability to work fast under strict Court’s deadlines
• Must be able to occasionally work beyond office hours due to exigencies of work
• A multi-tasker with attentiveness to details and prioritises work and meet deadlines
